You'll want to support your units with an MG, never use Volks alone to fight a UK Section 1v1. Last is the UK Rifle Section, to which every basic rifle unit is inferior to. Play between fighting at range and close up and personal with them. Volks are a little below but usually on par with US Riflemen and Ost Grenadiers if you can micro well enough.
